If the doors of perception were cleansed
everything would appear to man as it is,
infinite.
-- William Blake

Okay, so here it is. Without a bunch of hedging and hemming and hawing. Send your inner monologue, your cynical side, the jaded, protector pieces of yourself out for a cup of coffee. Better yet, let them listen: these aspects of ourselves have often been standing in the fire and holding the dream even more tenaciously than our warmer, fuzzier sides.

This is the put-your-money-where-your-mouth-is part of the show. The be-careful-what-you-wish-for-because-you-might-just-get-it, crank-it-up-a-notch, step-up-to-the-plate-and-swing-for-the-fence reason for being here. We are about to reveal the man behind the curtain. We are all about to deliver on a promise made long ago.

In a nutshell--

All we all want… from our deepest levels of yearning… is to connect. To know we are seen and received and understood. To know we belong. To feel we’ve returned home. Each of us has had access to a place within ourselves that knows exactly what this looks and feels like; that is the barometer of how close we are in a given moment, and the homing device that adjusts our course ever closer to this unseen, but ever-present idea of home.

Each of us made a conscious agreement to disconnect from that point of knowing for a time (perhaps of lifetimes). Each of us agreed to feel all of the “this is not it” for as long as necessary. Now is the time at which we all agreed we would wake up… and claim “it”.

We know it is not about the car we drive, the stuff we have, our status and the like. We know that we approach aspects of it as we do a good job, affect someone positively, make a lasting mark or impression, make a difference… do things for the “right” reasons.

We do it as we appreciate something… anything— a good meal, an exchange between two human beings, some artistic act of life from the perspective of spectator or participant— and sense we are following the trail of bread crumbs all the way back to our source. But as we negate a person or thing— cutting away anything of this universe as separate, distinct, outside ourselves— we instantly feel some pang of sadness or loss as we note movement away from our goal… our “grail”.

Many of us have been getting really “antsy” to get there of-late, and this agitation is proof that we are on the verge of our homecoming. In no time in history have so many people been willing to accept such a premise. Never before have so many been so ready to… remember. You couldn’t be excited about possibility if you didn’t believe it exists!

We stand now at a momentous place where we may awaken to whatever words we need to speak, and actions we need to take, to call it in. To call ourselves back home. And that is what we must consciously and continuously commit to calling into our lives, in any and every moment.

The shift from where you believe you are now… to where you think you want to be… is imperceptible. The time it takes to make the shift, and the distance you have to travel is… none.

The joy we seek comes as we “get” that we have consciously chosen to experience it all— every moment of our lives comes by agreement, by sacred contract.

I had an experience last month that put me back in direct touch with Spirit yet again— beyond the limits of ego and the senses; out of time; in full awareness of my agreement to experience numerous things in this life and this body… including attainment of a deeper appreciation of this amazing play, this superbly written script of my life… that has not missed a trick in providing me with everything I have ever needed. Ever.

Where I have had long-standing intellectual awareness that not one experience in my life has been frivolous or without some purpose, this recent revelation imprinted this notion even more deeply, profoundly and pervasively.

While having haphazardly stumbled on moments like these a few times in my life this time I chose this time to awaken a bit more, to remember the experience more vividly, to maintain a foot in both worlds for as long as possible, and to consciously bring a bit of this experience back with me… to share, and thus fulfill bits of that sense of destiny I have carried with me since a boy.

Just like the line from Frank Herbert’s novel “Dune”, uttered again and again as a mantra by the Bene Gesserit shaman/priestesses, I appreciate life even more as “feints within feints within feints”; that is, an amalgam of twists, turns, foreshadowing; seeds planted way-back-when that bear fruit at mind-boggling times; amazing coincidences; surprise plot twists; conflicts, resolution; revelations of character, strength, and fortitude, of surprise to none more so than the protagonists themselves.

I got my sense of magic and wonder back—that had slipped away for a time— and, in a new economy-sized bonus pack, with 25% more added in… free! From this place I also got back my immense love and appreciation for every other per- son, every other piece of “Godstuff” playing out their own roles and agreements and parts in the play for the sake of themselves and as they also benefit me. It is all here for me. It is all here for you. We have all been put here for the sake of each other.

“I am he as you are he as you are me
and we are all together.”
-– the Beatles, “I am the Walrus”

What I know is possible-- still with one hand firmly hitched to that star, and the other, more happily and committedly than ever, holding onto terra firma-- is that our awakening… is possible now!

We have nothing else to do, to prove, to know;
no one else to convince;
not one more hour that need pass…
prior to...
accepting our homecoming,
the return of joy, love, connection, community,
feeling that intense connection from within and without.

As we state we are ready… it is here. Available. Now.

We have agreed to stand for the highest principles imaginable. We have stood the tests of time, trial and tribulation. We have cried and prayed for the appearance of those who would see us, and with whom we could share the joys and possibilities of greater futures… and here we are.

This is your encouragement to keep asking for all you want; to stay in the joy of even the “off” moments; to open and receive that which you have asked for, and earned; and to know as you are DoingIt! all things are possible.

If one advances confidently in the direction
of his /her dreams, s/he will meet with
a success unmet in common hours.
-- Henry David Thoreau
