Darkness ("evil" in the parlance of some) is only light disguised. No more, no less.
It is here and real and necessary… up to the point that everyone will have chosen to not be tempted or tested by it any longer, and thus have chosen more light over less in every instance. At that time all may drop their disguises and reveal their true spiritual essence. This will be the time of ultimate celebration and final return to Oneness…
… and one might presume… will be the downtime before the next play or level of “the game” is gleefully launched.
The work is for each to find their true connection with Spirit, to stand in/for their largest Self, to undergo every last test and temptation to choose to live smaller, in less light… and come out the victor.
All the imagery—archetypal imagery—is ingrained in us as a set of clues (breadcrumbs, signposts) on the way back to Source. Through such myths and fables, stories and metaphors, we know of battles—symbolic or otherwise-- waged on our behalf. We resonate to these because they mirror the battles we fight deep in our own souls. We have an array of experience of deeds done and lessons learned by family, friends, characters in stories, books, films, our younger selves, etc., that illuminate the direction of our paths and speak to our movement and progress along those paths.
Remembering and awakening to these prompts at the proper time reminds us how far we have come, and that we are as large and as capable of achieving such great and right acts… as any hero/heroine or God/Goddess. We have only to remember:
- who we are
- from whence we came
- of what immensity we are all simply smaller pieces
- what power we can reclaim as these pieces relate and cooperate
- what worlds we can co-create.
The use of epic, majestic words and claims is often the precursor to one being placed in a rubber room, but such description is appropriate as one’s epic self is remembered and ready to be reclaimed.
The checks-and-balances in all of this are maintained as:
- one invites in (begs, pleads for, demands) the experience of ever larger doses of Spirit… to crumble, breakdown ego further and further, thus completing a loop of making one ever more humble;
- really gauging, out of these increasing waves of humility, one’s tendency to allow and appreciate in greater measure the diversity of the path of such unfolding in all others;
- and noting how the need to see growth in terms of battles and lessons as having to be hard lessens over time.
The epitome of you—is You. Minus the fears, limitations, outward projections of unaddressed shadow. And it is a world that reflects only your ideals, with anything less having been transmuted to reflect its original light.
If...
you believe there is a higher place…
Then…
you must believe in the path
and your ability to walk that path…
on the way to the ladder,
should you believe there is a ladder
and that you have the ability to climb that ladder,
no matter what it takes.
***
The journey along the path
gains one the tools,
and the beginnings of a sense of mastery
that ends at the foot of the ladder.
One has gained confidence
in his commitment to attainment of the higher place,
confidence in her faith, endurance, intention, passion,
any of the skills perceived to be useful and necessary
for the next leg of the journey.
One has now found the ladder
and has a sense of knowing where it might lead.
A new phase is thus entered unto.
***
I write this with the feeling
that I have achieved the first couple rungs of the ladder.
I have a strong sense
that I have the fortitude to climb as high
and as long as necessary.
And I am eager to see what awaits at the top of the ladder.
Will that be it?
Or might it lead to a cloud, with a path through the cloud?
And other paths and ladders traversing to other unknown heights?
I only know that
I am enjoying this walk,
and that I am less afraid of heights
with each step I take.
